Along
with her rich voice, smoldering live performances, and elegant songcraft,
Elisa Korenne brings a rare authenticity to her music. After cutting her
teeth in the high-caliber New York City music scene, the preeminent independent
music retailer CD Baby hailed Elisa as “one of the best we’ve
ever heard” and Singer & Musician magazine said she “belongs
on anyone’s must-play list.” Over the last two years, she has been gaining renown for her Ordinarily Unsung project. The Jerome Foundation, the Ucross Foundation, the Hedgebrook Foundation, and the Robert M. MacNamara Foundation selected Elisa as a recipient of four prestigious artistic fellowships for her Ordinarily Unsung project about members of the fringe in American History. As a performer, Elisa has been a headliner at regional, national, and international festivals. In 2005, the Nevers-a-Vif music festival in France chose Elisa to open the line-up of international artists. She has earned songwriting awards from the Plowshares Songwriting Contest, Sisters Folk Festival, Great American Song Contest, Song of the Year, Song Prize, and the Philadelphia Songwriters’ Project. Elisa’s live performances match her songwriting talent; her arresting presence and husky vocals lend her the rare ability of consummate performers to keep listeners riveted. Elisa’s music can also be heard on her debut album, Favorite, which was selected as one of the Top 50 Indie Releases of 2005 by Singer & Musician magazine, and on the radio. In 2006 the album Favorite was added to nearly 200 college radio stations across the U.S. More information on Elisa is available throughout this website. |

| Nationally-acclaimed singer-songwriter Elisa Korenne is fascinated with the oddest characters and events in history. She is becoming nationally known for her songs about characters and events that aren’t talked about in history class, and she has mastered the art of telling those untold stories from the stage. Her award-winning concert and workshop series is based on real individuals from history whose stories this popular songwriter and educator has collected. It has received awards from the Jerome Foundation, the Ucross Foundation, the Hedgebrook Foundation, and the Robert M. MacNamara Foundation. Elisa's
story-and-song concerts are feasts for the ears and the soul. They inspire
audiences with musical character studies and narratives that feature Elisa’s
warm, rich voice, and they are interspersed with Elisa’s characteristic
humor and love for audience participation. Interactive workshops are fun,
surprising, and engaging. They use music, discussion, and group collaboration
to show how songwriting is an essential vehicle for preserving unique
aspects of our society and passing them onto others as a cultural bridge.
Workshops benefit from Elisa’s depth of performance experience,
her witty intelligence, and her passion for teaching. Depending on the
workshop, participants may end up writing their very own song. Elisa offers
performances and workshops for audiences of all ages and specializes in
libraries, art centers, concert halls, universities, and schools. |
