hello

Ladies and gentleman, my last 6 weeks can be summed up in the following short phrase:

"The CDs have arrived!"

They sound and look incredible, and the early response to them has been fantastic. I am about to send them out to press outlets, radio, and TV/film licensers. If you would like to help promote the CD, please respond to this email.

In other great news--the Chicks with Guitar tour starts on Thursday. If you know anyone in Pittsburgh and Edinboro, PA or Cleveland, OH, pass along this email.

What people are saying about Favorite, the debut album by Elisa Korenne

"I'm showing it off like a new nephew!"
— Josh Kamenksy, singer-songwriter and leader of the LA-based band Captain Automatic

"I was hit with so many surprises yesterday. First, the arrival of your debut album, Favorite... It just got better after that... The disk rocks! - it just gets better and better as you go along. I have got several more listens to go with Favorite. Aside from my additional ‘pass around disk.’ I may just have to give a few away as gifts!"
— John Sillasen, Musician/Consultant, Southington, CT

The Chicks with Guitars tour starts this Thursday! Come see me perform with soul-rock powerhouse Nicola and bubble gum doomsday folk artist Jeanette Palmer. The Chicks with Guitars Spring 2005 Tour is sponsored by Hot Cherry Records, Popeye's, and others. The tour will visit PA, OH, VT, and ME. See below for venue information.

lyrics: instead

This song from the album Favorite is a haunting, Irish-influenced a cappella elegy from the perspective of the beloved. On the album, you can hear the incredibly talented folk singer Joe Jencks on harmonies. Oddly enough, I wrote this song in an Austin, TX blues bar on 6th Street called "Joe's Generic Bar." Listen, or buy your own copy, here.

My letters go unwritten
Your notes I leave unread
Forget that I forgot you
And remember me instead

The smoke whispers heartache
Embers fight the dark
Your presence never stronger
Than since we've been apart

Time goes on unbidden
Fingers twist my sleeve
My shoulders to attention
The bell tolls twice for me

The rumble in your belly
The tired in your eyes
Too long since you were marching
Too long your vigil outside

The candle flames and sputters
W
ax spills to the sheets
Forget that I forgot you
And leave me the night to greet
